It means learning to tolerate failure in oneself and the other, to be disappointed, to realize that a life can be merely ordinary and yet take great courage to live. And if you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know how thankful I am that a contemporary author refuses to give into indulgences or lofty goals of edging out other books with their own text’s impossible length!
How can a book be enlightening and, at the same time, irritating? This might even be one of the main points of literature: It is as realistic as one can get about the notion of marriage and love.
